Tara Meleen
|
| |
Tara
is a freshman at L’Anse High School. An honor
student, she is also a member of the high school
"A" skating team and Northern Ice, the Copper
Country synchronized skating team. Northern Ice
placed first in the 2007 State Games of America
in Colorado Springs, the first time any of the
skaters had competed in the national event. Tara
had previously endured two surgeries that
stymied her rigorous training schedule. Her
recovery, physical therapy and dedication
enabled her to compete so successfully in
Colorado. She is also a student council member,
on the track team and is a volunteer instructor
for Basic Skills skaters.
Synchronized skating is Tara’s source of
strength. She’s learned teamwork and how to
accomplish goals and dreams. With her warm smile
and friendly personality, she’s also developed a
lot of new friends. Tara is an extraordinary CC
Teen and a shining example for other students. |
