Prescription Medications
Prescription medications such as Ritalin, Adderall, and Dexadrine are stimulants. Effects of stimulant use include an increased alertness, attention, and energy along with a sense of euphoria. Stimulants can be addictive.

Stimulants increase blood pressure and heart rate, constrict blood vessels, and increase blood glucose and breathing. There is also the potential for heart attacks or lethal seizures. Taking high doses of some stimulants repeatedly over a short time can lead to feelings of hostility or paranoia. Additionally, taking high doses of a stimulant may result in dangerously high body temperatures and an irregular heartbeat.
